MC and formalities

Nathania Springs offer the services of their Master of Ceremonies (MC) in all its packages. The MC services of Nathania Springs have been voted the best in Victoria with the 2003 ABIA Awards.

However you can also choose to have a member of your family or a friend to perform the MC duties and we shall be happy to provide a typical script to assist.  

The MC
The Master of Ceremonies’ key mission is to facilitate various formalities of the wedding reception and above all assist the Bride and Groom in such a way that their reception runs as perfectly as they would have wished.

Besides the public speaking task, mainly to introduce the bridal party and the speeches, the MC is also expected to encourage the audience to cheer and applaud at appropriate moments of the reception.

Whilst experience in public speaking gives the MC a good head start, you can’t rely on that alone.  

Here are the typical tasks performed by the MC:

• Bridal party presentation
  After welcoming the guests and prior announcing the Bridal Party, the MC will make the required announcements about specific items that you may have chosen for your reception such as a guests’ book, cameras on the tables, telegram paper, etc... The MC will announce the Parents (if required), Bridal Party and Bride & Groom. Once the Bride and Groom have entered, grace may be said and the first course will be served.

• Introducing the bridal waltz as you are about to step on the dance floor.

• Introducing the speeches

• Leading the farewell procedures
